The Client

Rentokil, the experts in pest control, have stood for effective control ever since they were founded in 1965 in Australia and 1925 in the UK.

They have been providing effective and reliable pest control to both commercial and residential customers since then and have grown to become Australia’s largest and most trusted pest controller. Rentokil has never stopped leading through innovation, amassing an unrivalled store of pest control expertise staying one jump ahead of the latest pests — by developing products and services faster than they evolve.

With many industries requiring a ‘zero tolerance’ to pests, Rentokil understand that a pest-free environment is critical. Removal and control programs are tailored to protect businesses and their customers from pest-related problems and diseases.

The Brief

Rentokil Initial approached COG Branding with a brief to deliver the creative direction and marketing collateral design and production for the Paddock To Plate event that focused on the Internet Of Things (IoT).

A dynamic creative direction was required by Rentokil Initial to celebrate the Paddock To Plate event that was held in the RACV Club in the Melbourne CBD. It would explore the communication between computing devices embedded in everyday objects. The event would share best practices, information on current or growing ecosystems and development of relationships to partner with third parties.

A suite of visual marketing communication assets was required to be designed, produced and delivered into the hands of over one hundred professionals from primarily the Australian FMCG industry.

The Solution

A sophisticated and corporate positioning with a on-theme creative direction provided the event a clearly visible through-the-line atmosphere.

The digital marketing advertising campaign across the Google Display Network and Facebook provided the first event touchpoints. On the day of the event the physical print signage and promotional collateral worked in harmony with the digital advertising and presentation material of presenters and speakers.

With the client demanding attention to detail and a strict adherence to the global brand guidelines, this creative direction project tested the methodologies of our Sydney Branding Agency and our ability to use creative and innovative design concepts for a the new IoT category – but importantly remain within the guidelines of the Rentokil Initial brand.

The Results

A sold out event that required extra seating to be brought in to address the ticket sales demand.

Rentokil works proactively with businesses in the food sector to help prevent infestations, deal with outbreaks, stop further contamination and mitigate the risk of future pest infestations. The Paddock To Plate event that focused on IoT was to engage the Australian FMCG industry and build conversations around the future of IoT and what it looks like in the future.

A sold out event with positive reviews, new relationships and robust industry discussion still taking place when the house lights got turned on are the results of a successful event.
