The Brief
COG Branding, a leading Shopify development agency in Sydney, was approached by CARVE, a global sunglass brand to revamp their online presence and Shopify eCommerce store, and Shopify Plus account for both CARVE Australia and CARVE USA.
The client’s brief emphasised the need to adhere to conventional website development practices, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience and a robust and accurate back end for content and inventory management. Additionally, it was crucial to understand that the brand operates heavily as a wholesale business while also maintaining a robust online retail presence.
Our challenge was to create a versatile Shopify instance that catered to both wholesale clients and individual customers, balancing the brand’s dual focus and enhancing its digital footprint globally.
The Solution
To address the client’s needs, COG Branding undertook a comprehensive overhaul of their Shopify presence, spanning both Australia and America websites within the Shopify Plus environment. Our first step was adapting and customising existing Shopify themes to align with the brand’s aesthetics and functionality requirements. Recognising the limitations of the old themes, we developed new custom Shopify themes that offered a modern, user-friendly interface, enhancing the shopping experience for both wholesale and retail customers.
In addition to the visual and functional updates, we meticulously overhauled third-party marketing plugins to ensure seamless integration with the Klaviyo email marketing software. This was essential for executing effective and targeted email marketing campaigns. By refining these integrations, we enabled the client to deliver personalised and engaging content to their customer base, driving higher conversion rates and customer loyalty.
Furthermore, we optimised the data connections with Google and Meta platforms. This optimisation ensured that all paid marketing activities were accurate, well-targeted, and yielded the best possible ROI. Precise data connections allowed for detailed tracking and analytics, facilitating informed decision-making and strategy adjustments in real-time.
Through these efforts, COG Branding successfully delivered a robust, scalable, and efficient Shopify solution, tailored to the unique demands of a global sunglass brand operating in both wholesale and online retail markets.
The Results
The reimagined Shopify websites for the global sunglass brand achieved outstanding results. Monthly website traffic increased by 60%, and the conversion rate soared to 5%, well above the industry average. Email marketing campaigns via Klaviyo saw an increased open rate for cart abandonment plus a repeat customer initiative visa the birthday day discount proving a sales machine.
Additionally, optimised Google and Meta data connections resulted in a 50% increase in ROI for paid marketing activities.
